International Student Information

St Oran’s College is a small, integrated school for girls.  Established in 1958 by the Wellington Presbytery of the Presbyterian church, the school opened in 1959.  It is situated in lovely surroundings in Lower Hutt, only 15 minutes from New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington.

In addition to English language and speech lessons, international students study a range of subjects from the New Zealand school curriculum.

PLEASE NOTE: National qualification examinations are not offered to international students.

Small classes (maximum 24 students) and qualified teaching staff help to ensure that students’ needs are met.

A full range of co-curricular activities is offered.  As well as sports and outdoor activities, students can participate in a variety of dramatic and musical events or learn to play a musical instrument.

St Oran’s College is a safe, friendly environment.  The college’s special character underpins all activities.

Specially selected home stay accommodation is arranged with local families.

St Oran’s College has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education.  Copies of the Code of Practice are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website or click here.
